AI experience at the 9th Weblaw LegalTech Forum: an unprecedented encounter with a digital director
The 9th Weblaw LegalTech Forum was a landmark event, where innovation and technology came together to shape the future of the legal profession. This year, I had the privilege of organizing a first-of-its-kind workshop, which captivated the attention of many visitors: an interactive AI experience with a digital copy of the event's director, Franz Kummer.
Digital copy design
The idea of creating a digital copy of the event's director arose from the desire to demonstrate the advanced capabilities of artificial intelligence and 3D technologies. Here are the key stages of the project:
Synthetic voice development
We began by developing a digital copy of Franz Kummer's voice. To do this, we used recordings of his voice and advanced text-to-speech technologies. The result is a synthetic voice that responds naturally and fluently.
Creation of a response database
Next, we designed a database containing tailored answers to frequently asked questions. This database was populated with relevant information about the forum, the topics discussed and Franz Kummer's preferences, enabling the digital copy to provide accurate, contextual answers.
Physical reproduction by Lidar scan
The final step was to create a 3D copy of Franz Kummer's physique. Using Lidar scanning, we were able to obtain a highly detailed replica of his physical appearance. This cutting-edge technology enabled us to capture even the smallest details, making for a visually impressive experience.
Interaction with the Digital Director
At the forum, visitors had the opportunity to chat with this digital copy of Franz Kummer. Thanks to the integration of text-to-speech and database technologies, interactions were fluid and realistic. Participants could ask questions on a variety of event-related topics, obtain information in real time and enjoy an unprecedented immersive experience.
